You Won’t Believe How Cheap Avocados Are at Trader Joe’s This Weekend — Shopping

There's no point in burying the lead here, guys: Avocados are 50 cents each, today and tomorrow only at Trader Joe's. Thats two for a dollar! Or four for two dollars (two dollars, as in how much a single avocado will cost you elsewhere in the world this weekend — if you're lucky).

Trader Joe’s Shares Its Top 50 Products for Its 50th Anniversary — Grocery News

One of my favorite things about Trader Joe's — besides the prices, of course — is that I'm always finding new things that make meals so much easier. I've already written about their super-smart açaí packets that make breakfast smoothies better, and then this past weekend I discovered this crispbread that makes the most magical lunches (just add crème fraîche and smoked salmon — also from Trader Joe's.)

There are so many things to look at and choose from, it's easy to get lost in the grocery aisles. That's why it's always good to have some sense of what you're getting — or what's worth it — before you go. To mark the 50th anniversary of Trader Joe's, everyone's favorite grocery store shared the 50 top products according to customers and crew members. Do you recognize any favorites?

It should be noted that there is no better time to eat a grilled cheese sandwich than immediately when it comes straight off the stove, with the gooiest melted cheese and crackly, buttery bread. But that does not mean you can't make it in advance and pack it for lunch. You certainly can — it's just a matter of knowing the best way to wrap it up so it's still warm when you pull it out at lunchtime. Here's how to do it.

5 Reasons You Should Always Buy a Rotisserie Chicken — Shopping

Have you ever wondered why the readymade, warm-and-waiting-for-you rotisserie chicken at grocery stores is so cheap? At Whole Foods, for example, a rotisserie chicken costs $8.99 on a regular day and just $6.99 on Wednesdays. And here's another fun fact: Costco alone sells something like 70 million a year — and they do so at a financial loss.

So, what gives?

An exhaustive story in Priconomics last year explained that the reason the rotisserie chickens seems so cheap is that they are usually smaller than the similarly priced cold ones in your grocery store's refrigerator section. Even still, we'd argue rotisserie chicken is always a good deal. Here are five reasons why.
