If You Love Amaro, You Need to Try Cardamaro — Travel Intelligence

This past weekend, I knew I needed to get out of town. My dog, Charlie, was acting like a Hoover, eating every piece of trash in his path; my apartment was basically sweating due to the 95-and-humid-as-a-Russian-bath-house temperatures; and the combination was putting me in the foulest of moods.

This mindset was not improved during my drive to Livingston Manor, a charming little town in Sullivan County, New York. Under normal circumstances, it takes somewhere between two and three hours to reach this part of the Catskills; that day, it took me as long to get out of the city and again as long to navigate my way to my destination. Many expletives were uttered en route.

When I arrived at The DeBruce, I was hungry, tired, and desperately in need of a drink.

Julia Child Wants You to Bake Your Cucumbers — Tips from The Kitchn

It's smart to listen to Julia Child. If she tells you the best way to poach an egg is to poke a hole in its shell, do it and know you'll achieve poached egg perfection. If she says to use more butter, do so with reckless abandon and don't regret it. And if she tells you to bake your cucumbers, it'd be wise to listen, right? It does sound a bit strange, but trust in Julia and she won't let you down. Baked cucumbers are actually amazing.

Your Search for the Perfect Dish Towel Is Over — Shopping

If you're anything like me, you've accumulated a drawer full of mismatched kitchen towels. Some of them are decorative tea towels, none of which get the job done when it comes to drying. Some of them soak up water, but leave behind an equal amount of lint. And some of them do what they're supposed to — they're just so darn ugly.

All that's to say that over the years I've tried various products in my search for the perfect kitchen towel for drying dishes, wiping hands, and mopping up messes.

My search finally came to an end when I came across this hidden gem at Bed, Bath & Beyond while wandering through the kitchen linens.

Why I Like Canned Peaches Better than Fresh Ones — Strong Opinions

My parents came very close to moving our family to Atlanta when I was in middle school. Apparently, my father had been given a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity and he thought it'd be good for us. I, however, did not. I was only 11, but I knew I wouldn't fit in down there and that I'd be better off in South Jersey.

My social concerns had nothing to do with my unfortunate purple glasses, my awkward sense of humor, or my lack of athletic abilities. My worries stemmed from the fact that I knew I would have a very unpopular opinion down there in the Peach State: I thought (and still do think!) that canned peaches are better than fresh. That's right — I said it! Now, hear me out.
